About L.G.A. McIntyre
I grew up amid the lush forests and mountains of central British Columbia, Canada in the City of Quesnel. Here were histories and tall tales of the Goldrush and ghost stories that fired the imagination.
I trained in Media Arts and Communications in Victoria and enjoyed a successful career in television production before accepting a position supervising Media Production at the University of British Columbia.
I now work as an Executive Producer of Film and Television, and as an Instructor of Business Technology at the College of New Caledonia.
I am constantly inspired by the natural beauties of Vancouver. In one day, I can take a walk on a beach or kayak on a still sea in the morning, and by the afternoon I can be hiking in a forest or skiing down a mountainside.
Then the clouds will move in and the rains will come, and the atmosphere gets charged and dark. The ancient rain forest of cedars and ferns throws up a shroud of fog. It is the contrast that breeds intrigue, the conflict that showcases the truly beautiful moments.
I seek to bring this to my work. I write the stories that I enjoy reading, that I am passionate about. Sometimes the tales will grow dark, but it is this darkness that makes the light shine brighter.
Inspiration comes from observation, and experience. Pay attention to everything, for you never know where that next great tale will begin, that next great quest, for here be dragons; if you don’t seek them, you will never see them.
All the best
